Born in New York to a Danish father Karsten Johansson and Jewish American mother Melanie Sloan, Scarlett is the youngest of her siblings. She has an elder sister Vanessa who is also an actress, an elder brother Adrian, and her twin brother Hunter is an actor, too. Scarlett started her acting career in films in the late 1990s; however it was her starlet performance in "The Horse Whisperer" in 1998, which gained her notoriety and won her accolades.
