Biography
Sam Lerner plays the lovable and dependable Geoff Schwartz on ABC's hit comedy series "The Goldbergs."Lerner got his start in show business at age 9 after striking up a conversation with actress, director and writer Ellen Gerstein and actress Dot-Marie Jones at a New Year's Eve party he was attending with his family. He signed with a talent manager and, before long, he was alternating auditions with school, baseball, basketball, Hebrew School and skateboarding.
His big break came when director Barry Levinson cast him in the movie "Envy" with his favorite actors, Ben Stiller and Jack Black, plus Rachel Weisz and Amy Poehler. Other film credits include the Blumhouse film "Truth or Dare," starring Lucy Hale and Tyler Posey, and Paramount's "Project Almanac."
Lerner's television appearances include voicing the character Zak Saturday in Jay Stephens' cartoon show, "The Secret Saturdays," and King Gristle in the Netflix series "Trolls: The Beat Goes On!" He also had a recurring role on the ABC comedy "Suburgatory" as the nerdy but cute brainiac, Evan.
Over the course of his young career, Lerner has worked with legendary producers including Steven Spielberg, Robert Zemeckis and Michael Bay, and director Gil Kenan.
Lerner lives in Los Angeles.
