Biography

Patton Oswalt continues to find success in all areas of entertainment, from his GRAMMY®-nominated comedy special, "Finest Hour," to numerous memorable TV guest roles, the comedy "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" with Ben Stiller and a starring role on Adult Swim's "The Heart, She Holler." Oswalt has been recognized for his work on the big screen with a Critics' Choice Award nomination for his performance in Jason Reitman's "Young Adult," opposite Charlize Theron. In 2009, he received critical acclaim for his performance in Robert Siegel's "Big Fan," which debuted at Sundance and earned an Independent Spirit Award. Oswalt, himself, earned a Gotham Award nomination for his role.

As a comedian, Oswalt has shot four TV specials and recorded four albums, including his latest, "Finest Hour," which received a GRAMMY nomination for Best Comedy Album. He also made a Showtime one-hour special of the same name. In 2009, he received his first GRAMMY nomination for his album "Patton Oswalt: My Weakness Is Strong," distributed through Warner Bros. Records.

In addition to his guest roles on "Justified," "Two and a Half Men" and "Burn Notice," Oswalt had recurring roles on "The Newsroom" and "Caprica." He was a series regular on "United States of Tara" and appeared as a guest star on "Bored to Death," "Flight of the Conchords" and "The Sarah Silverman Program." He is also a regular contributor to "Countdown with Keith Olbermann," "Real Time With Bill Maher" and Lewis Black's "Root of All Evil."

Oswalt appeared in Steven Soderbergh's feature "The Informant!" and in "Observe and Report" with Seth Rogen. He also provided the voice for Remy in Pixar's Oscar®-winning "Ratatouille" and voiced characters on "WordGirl" and "Neighbors from Hell." He has appeared in more than 20 films, including "Magnolia," "Starsky & Hutch," "Reno 911!: Miami" and "The Comedians of Comedy," which was shot as an independent feature film, a TV series and a long-running tour.

Headlining both in the United States and U.K., Oswalt tours often and is a regular at festivals like Bumbershoot, Bonnaroo, Comic-Con and Coachella. He also has a bimonthly show at the new Largo at the Coronet Theater in Los Angeles.

His first published book, "Zombie Spaceship Wasteland," was released in January 2011 and is a New York Times bestseller.

Oswalt lives in Los Angeles.
