Brief Bio
An actress with talent and poise, Emily Deschanel has built an impressive list of credits throughout her career, challenging herself with each new role.She recently wrapped production on Anne Renton's upcoming independent comedy "The Perfect Family" opposite Kathleen Turner and Jason Ritter. Deschanel plays a successful lawyer who struggles with telling her religious mother she is pregnant and in a loving, committed relationship with another woman.
Deschanel recently starred in Nick Cassavetes' film "My Sister's Keeper." She can also be seen in Jerry Bruckheimer's "Glory Road" opposite Josh Lucas, Derek Luke and Jon Voight. Additional film credits include Anthony Minghella's "Cold Mountain," John Lee Hancock's "The Alamo," Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man 2," Stephen Kay's "Boogeyman" and Jane Weinstock's "Easy." Deschanel's television credits include guest appearances on "Crossing Jordan," "Providence" and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," as well as the Stephen King miniseries "Rose Red."
A member of the Interact Theatre Company, Deschanel's theater credits include "Emily" in "Our Town" and "Natasha" in "Three Sisters."
An animal-rights activist, Deschanel is passionately involved with the Farm Sanctuary, working to end cruelty toward farm animals and promoting compassionate living through rescue, education and advocacy. She is also involved with the Humane Society and Women for Women International.
Deschanel was born in Los Angeles and received her B.F.A. in Theater from Boston University.

HI, Im 14 years old and there is no one i look up to more than Emily ! My favourite show is bones, i have every season and watch every new episode on t.v ! Ive seen almost every movie emily is in and have watched serveral interviews with her ! She is so talented and being able to work with her would be life-changing ! :)

Hey there. Just wanted to congratulate all the cast and crew of Bones and the people at Fox Studios who i'm sure have been working their butts off to make the show a success! The actors are all so talented and the writers have done an incredible job especially with season 5! Can't wait for season 6 to air! I also just have a question for Emily. I'm vegetarian and have considered becoming vegan but there isn't many vegan options here so i was wondering where you buy your groceries haha? Also people have been warning me that it isn't healthy for a 15 year old to have a meat-free diet.(because of the need for Iron) is this true? Do you have to take vitamins because of your diet or are people just trying to change my mind? Keep up the good work, i love the show and all the characters and actors(tamara seems hilarious!) haha. My name is Jamie and I am 11. I live in Parker, Colorado. I have wanted to be an egyptologist for years, but after watching Bones I am thinking about forensic anthropology. Mom says I can do anything. I think you do great work. It would be cool if I was one of your victims on the the show. Well, not you, but your character. I just saw you in Boogeyman. It was a good movie until the end when the special effects were kind of cheesy. Thanks for your time.
