LIE TO ME is the compelling drama series inspired by the scientific discoveries of a real-life psychologist who can read clues embedded in the human face, body and voice to expose the truth and lies in criminal investigations.

DR. CAL LIGHTMAN (Tim Roth) is the world's leading deception expert. By analyzing facial expressions and involuntary body language, he can read feelings ranging from hidden resentment to sexual attraction to jealousy. His work gives him the knowledge and skill set to expertly mislead others as well as detect lies. But as Lightman well knows, his scientific ability is both a blessing and a curse in his personal life, where family and friends deceive each other as readily as criminals and strangers do.

Lightman heads a team of experts at The Lightman Group who assists federal law enforcement, government agencies, local police and private individuals with their most difficult cases. DR. GILLIAN FOSTER (Kelli Williams) is a gifted psychologist and Lightman's professional partner who brings balance to the partnership by looking at the bigger picture while Lightman focuses on the details. He needs her guidance and insight into human behavior, whether he knows it or not. ELI LOKER (Brendan Hines) is Lightman's lead researcher who is fascinated by herd mentality and group think. He says everything on his mind and often pays the price. Lightman's protege RIA TORRES (Monica Raymund) is one of the few "naturals" in the field of deception detection. Her raw, untrained ability to read people makes her a force to be reckoned with. Meanwhile, Lightman discovers the truth is harder to face at home, as his teenage daughter, EMILY LIGHTMAN (Hayley McFarland), begins dating.

In Season Two, cast members from the critically acclaimed series "The Shield" reunited in an episode in which Lightman and his ex-wife, ZOE (Jennifer Beals), faced the possibility that they sent an innocent man to his death. Also, Lightman was called to testify in the trial of an attractive widow accused of murdering her much older husband; Torres' half-sister, who was incarcerated in a juvenile correctional facility, re-entered Torres' life when a fellow inmate mysteriously disappeared; and when a young woman died during a campaign rally in Virginia, the Lightman Group was hired to assess whether the case was a failed assassination attempt or a well-disguised murder plot.

The upcoming season focuses on testing the relationships and dynamics of The Lightman Group as a wedge is driven between Lightman and Foster, creating devastating consequences for the group's future.
