About the Show
A blend of thrilling murder investigation and raw character drama, anthology series THE SINNER follows the investigation of a chilling new homicide each season. Detective Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman) employs unusual tactics and a deep capacity for empathy to solve his cases … with a boundless dedication driven by his own dark past. Departing from the traditional "whodunnit," the series delves into the "why" -- exploring the buried traumas, psychological factors and philosophical reasons that might compel a seemingly "normal" person to commit unspeakable acts.THE SINNER's third installment follows Detective Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman) as he begins a routine investigation of a tragic car accident on the outskirts of Dorchester, in upstate New York. Ambrose uncovers a hidden crime that pulls him into the most dangerous and disturbing case of his career. Jamie Burns (Matt Bomer), an upstanding Dorchester resident and expectant father will look to Ambrose for support in the wake of the accident.
From UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, Derek Simonds serves as showrunner and executive producer, alongside executive producers Jessica Biel and Michelle Purple through their company Iron Ocean. Charlie Gogolak and Willie Reale also serve as executive producers.
