Austin and Ally

About the Show

Opposites rock in Disney Channel's new series about singing, songwriting, the adventure of trying to achieve your dreams and the friends you meet along the way. The multi-camera comedy follows the improbable partnership between two polar opposites -- Austin, an extroverted musician/singer and Ally, a brilliant yet shy songwriter -- and their two best friends, Trish and Dez.

Ally works in her parents' music shop, Sonic Boom, which is the center of her musical universe. Trish takes odd jobs around the mall to pass the time, and they both enjoy the view from Sonic Boom, a cell phone cart managed by a cute boy. Austin and Dez happen upon Sonic Boom one day and do their best to persuade a less than enthused Ally to let Austin have some musical instruments, promising they will pay her back once he becomes famous. Unbeknownst to Ally, later that day Austin and Dez "borrow" one of her songs, record it, create a video and post it on the Internet, after which it and Austin become overnight sensations. When Trish convinces Ally to tell the world she wrote the song, Austin pleads with her to write another hit for him. Instead, the two combine their talents in an attempt to create a true musical tour-de-force.

In the comfort of Sonic Boom, Ally works on hit after hit for Austin, while Trish assumes the lead in becoming Austin's manager and Dez takes on the role of music video director. Ally's original songs, which are performed by Austin, including "Double Take" and "Break Down the Walls," become chart toppers, and together the foursome learn to navigate the ups and downs of fame, friendship and being teenagers. Though they have very different personalities, they're a fiercely loyal team and, when they're together, there's nothing they can't accomplish... for better or worse.

Starring are 15-year-old newcomer Ross Lynch as Austin, 15-year-old Laura Marano ("Without a Trace," "Back to You") as Ally, 18-year-old Raini Rodriguez ("I'm in the Band," "Paul Blart Mall Cop") as Ally's best friend, Trish, and 20-year-old Calum Worthy ("Good Luck Charlie," "Psych") as Austin's best friend, Dez.

The series was created and is executive-produced by Kevin Kopelow and Heath Seifert ("Good Burger," "Keenan & Kel," Disney Channel's "Sonny With A Chance" and "JONAS"). "Austin & Ally" is a production of It's a Laugh Productions, Inc. The program carries a TV-G parental guideline.
