This is the event I was telling everyone about a bit ago! It was really fun and I met so many people in the industry! Well worth it, anyone reading this should definitely go and attend the talk show lots of great tips and a great way to get your foot in the door. There is also a hilarious variety show and the open mic would be a great way to get yourself out there! Hope to see you there!!!

Great place to meet Agents & Casting Directors
Hey everyone I'm new to the NYC area and I stumbled upon this great event last Tuesday and I wanted to share the info with other Actors and Actresses like myself. It's at the Players Theatre on MacDougal. They were mainly promoting their Variety Show & Open Mic but before all of that they had a great "Networking Party" where casting directors, producers, broadway actors and filmakers all talk about the industry and how to make it! The night i went Melba Moore was there and she performed at the very end. So anyone that reads this and is a NYC struggling actor/actress should be sure to check it out. I believe the company that put on the show was called "StageBuddy" and the theater is "Player's Theater". Any other info I'm sure you could find through them. Every Tuesday night! Maybe I'll see some of you there?!

Online Portfolios to Promote Yourself
What I have discovered is that the best way to get your name and face out is there going through internet sites geared to getting people discovered. Yes, many can be scams asking for money...but some---are free, fun and actually do care about your success!
TalentTrove.com is a great site to post your resume on! I came across them on this site http://thepuckwrites.com/career-building/online-portfolios-promote-writing/
---and I took a look! TalentTrove.com was so easy to upload all my media--and the best part is they are FREE! There is no aspect of the sites that requires you to pay any money at any time!-- The second best part is that they run contests for all types of categories. Right now they are running contests for actors, chefs, guitar and drummers!

Seriously people check it out!
