Scarlett Johansson
The world is talking about Scarlett Johansson, a significant and remarkable actress with an hour glass figure. Esquire magazine recently named Scarlett Johansson the world’s sexiest woman.

Born in New York to a Danish father Karsten Johansson and Jewish American mother Melanie Sloan, Scarlett is the youngest of her siblings. She has an elder sister Vanessa who is also an actress, an elder brother Adrian, and her twin brother Hunter is an actor, too. Johansson graduated from Professional Children’s School, Manhattan, NYC where she trained for acting and theatre.

Ladder to Fame
Scarlett started her acting career in films in the late 1990s; however it was her starlet performance in “The Horse Whisperer” in 1998, which gained her notoriety and won her accolades. She proved her worth and maturity as an actress with a dynamite performance that won her the Best Actress Award at the Venice Film Festival for the 2003 feature film “Lost in Translation.”

Her break-out role in “Lost in Translation” was what launched her acting career. Overnight, she gained importance and prominence as a well known and exceptionally talented actress. In 2004, she got an offer to join the Academy of Motion Picture Art and Sciences. This was the beginning of a new chapter for her and soon she found herself in demand as an actress. She was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for her role in “A Love Song for Bobby Long.”

The best was yet to come and soon she found her name on a short list of actresses for a leading role in "Mission Impossible III." However, due to a scheduling problem, she had to let it go. But this was not the end of the road for her and soon she was seen with Ewan McGregor in the Michael Bay-directed futuristic action film, “The Island” as the main female lead. She has another movie “The Prestige,” in the pipeline and slated for release in October 2006. She is also cast opposite Natalie Portman and Eric Bana in “The Other Boleyn Girl,” which is to release in 2007.

Modeling
Calvin Klein hooked up Scarlett, Kiera Knightley and Tom Ford for advertising the perfume, “Moment.” Additionally, Scarlett appeared on the front page cover of Vanity Fair. Scarlett further added laurels to her cap by becoming the brand ambassador for Louis Vuitton in 2005 and L’Oreal in 2006. Maxim, one of the most famous magazines put Scarlett on their hotlist. She was voted number 6 in their Hot 100 issue in May 2006. Later on she went on to sign up with Reebok for their new advertisement slated for release in the spring of 2007.

Personal Life & Trivia
  • Scarlett is known to be presently dating actor Josh Hartnett. At the same time, she has made it known that she has an inclination for older men.
  • Scarlett loves cheese and calls it her weakness. She likes to eat healthy and blasts the media for promoting stuff which brings about eating disorders.
  • Scarlett doesn’t want to divulge her stand on religion and has openly criticized those actors who thank God and Jesus for the awards they receive.
