Ashton Kutcher
While it may be true that Ashton has yet to garner that critical acclamation, yet no one can deny his talent and his ability to entertain, to make us laugh.
Married to the very famous Demi Moore, Ashton is a firm believer in the institution of marriage. Having been poor once, Ashton has his feet planted firmly on the ground.
Born in Cedar Woods, Iowa on 7th February, 1978, as Christopher Ashton Kutcher, he has a twin brother Michael and a sister Tausha. His parents Larry and Diane divorced
when Ashton was 13 years old. The same year Ashton's brother had to undergo a heart transplant surgery. This incident had a great impact of Ashton's life.
Ladder to Fame
However, fate was about to intervene. In 1997, a modeling agent spotted Ashton at a local café and suggested Ashton enters the Fresh Faces of Iowa contest.
Ashton won the contest and was flown to New York for the 1997 International Model and Talent Agency competition. Winning this modeling contest was Ashton's
ticket to globe-trot. Ashton modeled for print ads as well as ramp modeled for the likes of Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, and Versace.
Soon Ashton decided to further explore the actor in him. He started doing the rounds for audition. To his amazement and sheer good luck, Ashton landed a role in
the 'soon to be hit' TV comedy "That 70's Show," in 1998. His character, the loveable and comedic doofus Michael Kelso, won him huge fan following and tremendous popularity.
Hollywood Calling
Not one to rest on his laurels, Ashton decided to join Hollywood. He auditioned for "Pearl Harbor" (2001) but lost the role to Josh Hartnett. His comedy "Dude, Where's my Car?" (2000)
set the cash registers ringing. Ashton's movie with then girlfriend Brittany Murphy, "Just Married" (2003) was also a hit; "Guess Who" (2005) and "Cheaper by the Dozen," followed.
Ashton decided to turn producer with the 2004 production, "The Butterfly Effect" which was a box office hit. Kutcher acted in his own series 'Punk'd,' 2003, a show about playing
pranks on celebrities which are caught real time on camera and is running its 7th season on MTV. "The Guardian," his latest film, is a thriller with Kutcher sharing screen space
with actor Kevin Costner. Ashton had to quit smoking and undergo major physical training for his character as Coast Guard rescue swimmer in the movie. Other movies scheduled
for a 2006 release are "Bobby" and the animation movie "Open Season" where Kutcher has lent his voice.
